Amazing news from the Nosara River mouth!
Local man Luis Rodriguez landed this behemoth Snook around 6am at the in surf directly outside the River mouth. They took it to the grocery store scale before fileting this beast:

I love how our guys take ‘days off’ in Nosara…Cumi is the hardest-working member of the Nosara Paradise Rentals team, streched thin between driving to and from the airports, maintaining all of the Safari Carts, and managing all of the in-town transportation from Ostinal to Garza and all points in between.

It’s no secret around here that Javier is the man when it comes to land-based Snook fishing. On Friday our new friend Christoper Santore and his girlfriend went to the river mouth early in the morning looking for these tasty fighters.
They found a small 3lb. along the beach, then headed inland up the river bank. Before too long they had a meaty 12 pounder on the line and pulled it in all the way to the dinner table.
They also found this Sting Ray in shallow water which Javier seems unafraid of.
All in all it was another excellent Snook Hunt with El Jefe Javier Hernandez!

The FishingNosara Family Cup is awarded to the best aggregate family performance at the Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Tournament which was held in May 2011.
Melita Ganoe and her family finished atop the leaderboard, so as part of the prize she opted for a impromptu meeting of the Kayak Fishing club right here in Nosara. El Jefe Javier Hernandez led the trip down the Nosara River, and even though the fish were shy it was still a great time.
We are looking forward to the 2nd winners of the FishingNosara Family Cup later this Spring. Thanks to JaxKayakFishing.com for hosting this awesome event.

Amazing Kayak Safari Tour today that featured a canine companion and an excellent Snook catch by El Jefe. Local man Humberto Avila was joined by guide Arturo for a lazy float down the Rio Nosara.
Once they got to the river mouth and broke out the fishing poles, look who they ran into:
No other than Nosara Paradise Rentals GM Javier Hernandez along with another fantastic Snook. El Jefe is a Snook catching machine and he always knows where the big boys are hiding. Another great day on the river!

Amazing catch from the Nosara River! This monsterous snook was caught by a local Nosara man on spinning tackle. The IGFA World Record for this fish is 57 lb 12 oz lbs. and was caught way back in 1991 in Quepos, Costa Rica.
I think it is fair to say that record is shattered, and the new title belongs to Nosara!
We’ll have more details about the angler and this amazing fish as they surface. Until then send this pic around to your buddies who think that a giant Snook is a 20 pounder; then get your passport together and get the heck on down here!

Javier did it again! With overcast skies in Nosara bringing the big snook to the river mouth, it should be no suprise that El Jefe was nearby with road and reel at the ready.
Looks like another full skillet at Javier’s house. Proof again that there is great land based fishing here as well as big-time deep water sportfishing. Bring your light tackle and/or fly rods and join Javier at the river mouth!
