Ruth Fricke and her group helped Captain David break in the new Discoverer with some excellent action on April 30. They started off with a pair of Bonitas which Mate Kevin used to make our special spinning strip rig.

The big Sailfish couldn’t resist the fresh meat, and the battle raged on the Discoverer with four excellent Sailfish releases.

Mate Kevin executed the safe releases with great precision as Captain David captured these amazing images.

Great work by the new crew on the new battleship!

Peter Sohlden’s boys gained momentum with more Sailfish releases to start the day on April 27. This pair of releases got things going:

With several releases under their fighting belts this group flipped over to the spinning tackle, chased a school of spinning porpoises and casted for Yellowfin Tunas.

It’s a welcome sight to see these 20lbs. football-sized Yella Fellas back in our area. They always come in the early summer, and the big Marlin are usually close behind!

Bob Pease finished off another great week of hall-of-fame caliber fishing with Captain William and First Mate Alex on the Wanderer.

This high-flyer was a real challenge for any angler, but Bob’s billfishing skills are honed after this week of crazy action.

The action was consistent throughout the trip as the boys notched four more Sailfish releases.

Bob will be back in June and we are stoked to see what kind of fishing action will be in store from this Georgia boy!

Bob Pease finished off Day 3 with another nice Sailfish release, plus added a MASSIVE Dorado to his scorecard.

This deck sweeper is at least 60lbs., maybe more. Nice to see that Bob won’t have to eat chicken tonight; 15+ fish this week and now he finally has a filet!

In the afternoon First Mate Alex put out the billfish spread and attracted another hungry Sailfish.

Great work all around to keep the good times rollin’ on the Wanderer!

Now there’s no way to follow-up a great day like Bob Pease had on the 22nd, but these Georgia boys stayed on the bite to the tune of four Sailfish releases.

Overcast skies and intermittent waves seas would challenge most boats, but Captain William has seen it all and the mighty Wanderer wasn’t about to back down from tough conditions.

These releases bring Bob’s personal billfish total with us up to 30 fish. Excellent work Mr. Pease!

Bob Pease is a tough fisherman from Georgia and he scored huge onboard the famous Wanderer…Take a look at the monster Marlin released by this ole’ boy:

This Blue Marlin is estimated around 300lbs. and certainly is the fish of a lifetime!

Bob Pease put his mark on this fishery in August 2012 when he broke a then-team record with 13 Sailfish released in one day; that feat landed him in the FishingNosara Hall of Fame, and it is safe to say that he is up for another enshrinement.

This trip wasn’t a one-hit wonder…Bob and the boys also tallied seven Sailfish releases.

All this excellent hunting by Captain William made sure that First Mate Alex was wrangling fish all day!

Great work on all the safe releases on a dynamite day for Bob Pease and the famous Wanderer!

April 21, 2014

Keith Renaud and his family totaled eight nice Sailfish releases today on the Wanderer.

Thing got cooking early on with three early releases.

The action intensified with a Double Sailfish release expertly coordinated by Captain William on the wheel and First Mate Alex helping the anglers in the cockpit.

After the clean double release the action stayed strong throughout the trip.

Everyone got their hands dirty but all the fish were safely releases as always.

Another wonderful Wanderer trip!
