Bill Werden and his group acquired their vacation package at a banquet for the Florida Coastal Conservation Association and they bellied up to the bar for some great sailfish action on the Wanderer.

This monster is estimated to weigh upwards of 150lbs. and was a memorable fishing feat for these Florida anglers.

Superb boat handling by Captain William made this a short fight, and First Mate Alex saw to the safe revival and release of this beautiful Sailfish.

A relaxing sunset cruise was a fitting end to one of the busiest months ever for the Wanderer. Client Charles Bamburg brought a fun-loving group on board for a quick 2.5 hour jaunt to the inshore reef and they had a boatload of fun to go with several Jack Crevelle catches.

Take a look at the good times:

Dave Devine and his family turned in one of the best performances in recent memory by releasing two Sailfish and two Striped Marlin on just a 5 hour trip! That is incredible production for a half-day of fishing.

Both Stripeys weighed about 225lbs. which is typical size for this species. They fight just as ferociously as their bigger cousins and getting two releases on a single trip is certainly a noteworthy feat.

Nice to see that Dave’s son got in on the action and caught one of the Sails. Great fish handling as always by First Mate Alex to make sure the fish and the kid got away from this photo safely.

FishingNosara Master engineer Captain Jack Weinmann is in town for a combination work / pleasure trip as he oversees the maintainance of the boats, safari carts, and trucks that keep our operation running smoothly. However its not all wrenches and grease this week as Captain Jack joined Craig Sutton and Ms. Paula for a productive day on the Wanderer.

This Spanish Mackeral is a rare delicacy and the boys will no doubt be munching on this all week long.

Jack and Craig also added two lovely Ponpanos for use as ceviche. What about thick-filet sandwich meat?

Jack’s got that covered as well! This small but meaty Grouper should yield some tasty filets that will make this group very popular around the Nosara Paradise Rentals campus. Excellent catches by FishingNosara’s #1 tech, Captain Jack!

David Lukof and his family come from the hills of Pennsylvania and are the most recent in a long line of Northeast anglers who have experienced amazing success on our stretch of ocean. Things got started quickly with lots of early Bonita catches.

The highlight of the trip was certainly this monster Broomtail Grouper conservatively estimated to weigh a 45lbs. Look at the girth on this fella:

First Mate Alex is one of the strongest men I know when it comes to fish-handling (see Double Sailfish releases) and Mr. Lukof ain’t no little guy either; clearly this fish was more than a handful!

David Lukof has more trips planned on the Wanderer and will also try his hand at extreme panga fishing with the Explorer and Adventurer later this month and in early March. Stay tuned!

Mark Manson brought his family to the Wanderer for a relaxing sunset cruise, but the fish were biting with such frequency and variety that relaxation fell by the wayside.

They started off by catching a and bunch of Bonitas which are not very tasty for humans to eat; however the bottom fish can’t resist them!

Mark’s family pulled in a 15lbs. Ponpano (above) and 25lbs. Grouper which should provide more than enough filets for the rest of their trip. Another excellent sunset trip from the famous Wanderer!

Michael Helbock brought his family to the Wanderer, which in addition to being the most productive boat in Garza is also the most family-friendly. Many youngsters have been introduced to the craft of sportfishing on the flagship and her crew are the perfect hosts for a safe, fun, and educational time on the water.

They caught a few Jack Crevelles and a pair of tasty Mullet Snappers; excellent eating for the dinner table!

Excellent inshore action from a boat that is just as good for families as for hardcore anglers.

Russell Triplett and his lady had a wonderful day of action on the flagship, highlighted by His and Hers Sailfish releases and a monster Dorado for the dinner table.

Russell caught the first sailfish and just when she swam away freely after the release a second line popped off the report of a strike.

First Mate Alex switched the spread over from billfish to meatfish in the afternoon and once again the flagship delivered the goods for her clients. Take a look as this monster Dorado estimated to weigh over 45lbs.

Need some help holding that fish, Russell? I think she can handle it for ya:

ย Another super day on the big blue beauty Wanderer!
