Dan Johnson of Hatteras, NC took his two friends Antonio Carrillo and Aneudy Hernandez Ortiz on the Wanderer.
They had an excellent day with a Sailfish release backed up with two Dorados and four Yellowfin Tunas.
The Wanderer got rolling in early January with a nice swath of Yellowfin Tuna catches.
Master Captain William led the charge on December 28th. Joined by members of the John Hislop group, the Wanderer tracked down a fast-moving school of Yellowfin Tunas (somewhat unusual for this time of year).
You can see in the photos that the Master Captain called in the rest of the local boats to work this school of fish; sharing is caring!
John Hislop’s family got off to a quick start on the 26th with Master Captain William reporting great Dorado action with a nice Yellowfin Tuna sprinkled in.
It’s always a treat to see young anglers scored nice fish.
We love to help youngster get acclimated to the craft of bluewater sportfishing, and on the 22nd Master Captain William kept the lines bent for this family.
After warming up on small fish, they moved a little further offshore and nagged some big Yellowfin Tunas and a nice Dorado.

After the safe release, they added variety to their haul with some rare-f0r-December Yellowfin Tunas.
Normally this fish is abundant in the Summer, but the ocean is always full of surprise.

They also added a super Sailfish release to the lesson plan:
The rounded out the day with a swarm of sweet Dorado scores.

Canadian angling legend Capt. Lowell Morgan “Rusty” Dalgety celebrated his birthday on the 16th with this world-class Blue Marlin release:
Amazing job by Master Captain William and the Wanderer. They also filled up the refrigerator with this tasty Dorado.
The Wanderer and Jessica Geijer’s group had a big day on December 12. The fought big Blue Marlin for a brief time until it spit the hook.
Tough break, but the rest of the 6.5 hour trip was also full of action. This Double Sailfish release was a real highlight.
They also nabbed a Dorado for the dinner table.
On December 7, Dan Johnson still recovering from rotator cuff surgery had his Best Day of Dorado fishing with friend Juan Carlos Gudiño and Anthony Joxcer.
Caught 21 big Gaffers, released a big Sailfish. They also had another Sailfish come in the spread to eat the teaser and had a Blue Marlin eat 4 of 5 pink squids and the back teaser and took off.
Afterwards, Captain William and Mate Ellis and their wives and other friends joined for dinner feast at Marlin Bill’s.
