Fresh sushi today for client Matt Lukof and his group on the Adventurer. Captain Carlos has the little 23-foot straight razor sharpened to a finely honed edge and on this trip sliced and diced his way to a full fishbox.
Amanda got thing rolling with this excellent Jack Crevelle, and if you notice in the background Matt a fish on the line as well. By trip’s end they had caught two Yellowfin Tunas, a Barbero Snapper and 7 Bonitos. That is fantastic action for just a 5 hour trip.
Great work Captain Carlos and the devastatingly diminutive Adventurer.
Kind of slow action on the Adventurer today. Captain Carlos keep the rods bending for client Warren, but all they caught were seven non-edible Bonitas. While this is better than striking out, it certainly would’ve been nice to bring home some filets.
Amazing report from the pocket knife Adventurer…Captain Carlos reports that the 23 foot Panga has released her first billfish, a terrific Pacific Sailfish!
Client Josh Walker hook-up up a 100+ lbs. Sailfish on a surface feather about 1 mile from shore. With glass water and calm conditions, there was no stopping Captain Carlos from taking the Adventurer a little more offshore than usual. The water clarity was obviously a huge factor in this strike.
Captain Carlos masterfully coordinated the hook-up and the fight, but most importantly saw to the safe and careful release of this awesome fish.
Now most Captains would be satisfied calling it a day on the heels of this massive acheivement, but Carlos is known for squeezing every drop of action out of a fishing day.
Josh scored five nice-sized Dorados before the Sailfish strike, then later in the day dropped a line to the reef bottom and hauled in this amazing Cubera Snapper.
A trophy fish released and lots 0f filets to go with it. Let’s hope this is a sign of the kind of fishing our clients can expect from Captain Carlos and the never-say-die Adventurer.
Today was a very productive half day outing for Jeff Saint on the nimble new Adventurer. They set up shop just outside of Garza Bay and found fertile fishing grounds over a piece of floating debris.
Jeff pulled five Dorados and eight Bonitas from under the driftwood and then Captain Carlos took them a little further inshore and deployed a scaled-down version of the devastating Planer / Spoon rig (see right side of photo). This tasty Jack Crevelle was the result.
Captain Carlos is a hungry fisherman who squeezes every drop of action out of his fishing days. Another great wall-to-wall report from the hard-charging Adventurer.
Great morning of snorkeling and fishing on the Adventurer today. This couple nailed a nice Jack Crevalle, and then enjoyed the undersea vistas around the Pink Island.
Captain Carlos delivers another peaceful morning on the Adventurer.
Client Thomas Ellrott enlisted the concealed weapon Adventurer and Captain Carlos put him on top of the fish in virtually no time at all. Along with his young son, Mr. Ellrott caught a big old Conrio on just a 2.5 hour excursion.
Excellent work by the little boat set on building a big reputation.
The Adventurer is building a derringer-like reputation for packing a massive wallop into a small frame. Look at this Grouper that Captain Carlos put his clients on this morning:
We’ve said it before, but it bears repeating that the fish don’t care how big your boat is. Excellent work by the diminutive Adventurer.
The newly minted Adventurer took client Laurie Anderson and her group out to the Pink Island for a afternoon Snorkel Safari Tour. Captain Carlos took the panga around the west point to the famous Pink Island.
This coral burm pokes out of the sea at low tide, and the island itself provides a barrier to the offshore winds. This keeps the water clear and the current rather slow; the recipe for perfect snorkeling conditions!
Additionally, there are several ancient (and not-so-ancient) sunken ships around this coral island. Laurie’s group enjoyed the snorkel-friendly conditions and had a wonderful time beneath the waves.
Our Snorkeling trips are safe, fun, and very popular with our guests. For those really wanting to take it to the next level, sign up for the new Lobster Tour and bring home some dinner from your Snorkeling excursion.
