There has been great action at the Rio Nosara this month with lots of excellent Snook catches reported.

Our old buddy Manuel Campos scored this awesome monster:

Also local legend Santos “Fly” Ruiz knocked out a few nice Robalos:

Another old friend Cumi caught the biggest Snook of the month. Look at the girth on this one:

Anglers of all ages bent a rod this month:

Of course a resource as beautiful as the Rio Nosara needs protection, and fortunately the Fuppernos are on guard with bi-monthly river clean-ups.

As the rainy season approaches in the highlands, more trash gets washed downhill ending up in the river.

This steps taken by the Friends of the River ensure that the blue flag will continue to fly over the Rio Nosara.

The Adventurer‘s hot streak of Rooster Fish releases continued into late August, with some 40lbs.+ pez gallos meeting their match.

Captain Fico continues to master the art of Rooster wrangling, as evidenced by these photos.

Of course the 23-foot switchblade can always be counted on for some meat…check out this 15lbs. Cierro Mackeral:

All in a day’s work for the inshore assassin!

The staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals took some much-deserved time off on the 26th to celebrate Marino, Alejandro, and Grevan’s birthdays. They joined Captain William on the Wanderer for an afternoon of inshore fishing and scored this sweet Rooster Fish release:

Later they enjoyed some tasty cake back at the campus.

Happy Birthday fellas!

Captain David is dialed-in on the Discoverer and his clients reaped the rewards this month.

Sailfish releases have been plentiful, headlined by this 200lbs.+ monster:

The big battleship backed that up with several more great releases:

Meat fish have been on the menu for Captain David’s clients, with Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 20lbs. to well over 50lbs.

Most recently Craig scored a sweet Rooster Fish release:

After their excellent action offshore, Buz Underill returned to the Wanderer and opted to stay in close to ply the reefs just outside Garza Bay.

They deployed our exclusive Cubera Snapper Tactic and scored big:

This monster weighs at least 50lbs. and its filets will pair nicely with the 80lbs. of Dorado they scored earlier in the week.

Great work by Mr. Underill and the crew of the flagship Wanderer.

Chad Grimes and his posse of North Carolina anglers put a hurtin’ on the inshore reef dweller on August 18 with the flagship Wanderer.

This monster Rooster fish release at the start of the day was just the tip of the iceberg.

They followed up with a MAMMOTH Cubera Snapper (unusual for so early in the day) and then added a late-day Rooster fish release.

Great work from our friends from CCA North Carolina!
