The Wanderer welcomed the Brookshire family on March 7. This monster Dorado was caught by angler Jatzen Blanco.
Great work by Master Captain William and the mighty flagship Wanderer.
Cary Clark and his family enjoyed an excellent day of fishing on March 7, with Captain Carlos reporting multiple Sailfish releases.
Eric Goldberg brought his family to the Discoverer for a fun five hour trip to the blue water.
Multiple Sailfish releases marked the scorecard for this fun-loving family of anglers.
The Discoverer welcomed Erin Sanders’ family for a fun day offshore.
They nagged five Sailfish releases, plus a tasty dinner-table sized Dorado.
Excellent work Captain Carlos and the big battleship.
Captain Alex and Brad Watson’s boys got into it with a bunch a bad blue water beasties on the 27th. Big Dorados were iced throughout the day.
Once again we have proof that the more FishingNosara swag you wear on the boat, the more the fish cooporate.
Meanwhile, the Harvester was on the the hunt for some of the swarm of Sailfish swimming near our shores.
On February 26, Dan Johnson from Hatteras took his longtime friend Manuel Obando from Garza out along with Captain Fico‘s son Moises Friend Anthony and little nine-year-old Jefferson.
It was Jefferson‘s first day on the sea and he was happy to catch a Dorado and some bottom fish. Dan gave him a pair of sunglasses, and he’s now a Pescador.
The Wanderer is a great place to bring the kids, and on the 26th Captain William was excited to welcome Chris Graves’ family.
They stayed inshore as the kids kept the rods bent all day long. They came away with a nice haul of Yellowfin Tunas and White Tunas.
Captain Alex and the Harvester welcomed angler Brad Watson’s posse for a fun trip offshore on the 19th.
The mega panga rolled into Sailfish City and found the big billfish bristling for battle.
Great work by Mate Wilson to safely handle and release all of these monsters.
Certain anglers want to micromanage their trip (inshore for 1.5 hours, troll for 2hr, cast for 45 minutes, etc.) and a common response is to “take what the ocean gives you.”
Phil Egan learned this lesson from the sea on February 16. Here is his account:
“So, our little 2.5 hour 3-5:30 snorkeling trip turned into quite an experience. Green water and swells over the reef turned the snorkeling into a bust. We then turned offshore to see if we could have the kids spot some dolphins – that was a bust too.”
“After about 45mins searching, the guys then said “how about some fishing”. Um….sure! We ended up snagging 2 sails – so much fun.
“And then with the sun going going down and the guys taking in lines – the last remaining line in the water – port outrigger – blows up. Bring in a beautiful ~40 lb dorado!”
“Can’t wait for the Thursday trip!”
Ted Markow’s family returned on the 30th for a fantastic day of offshore fishing on the Discoverer.
They pulled off this super-challenging Double Sailfish relese, then added a solo Sailfish release later in the trip.
A tasty Yellowfin Tuna rounded out the haul for Team Markow.
