Captain Alex and angler Gregory Patts kicked off a three day blue water campaign on January 2, and things got off to a quick start with a sweet Sailfish release.

After the safe release the mega panga scored a big Dorado for the dinner table.

Great work by Captain Alex!
One of our favorite anglers Leah Merryfield helped the Wanderer ring in the New Year with a great day of action on January 1.

Captain William found this big Dorado lurking offshore, and Miss Merryfield was they to land this monster.

Mate Johnny had his work cut out for him to filet this big green beast.

With dinner on ice, Mike battled a big Sailfish all the way in for the release.

Filets for the table and another trophy release for the scrapbook…that’s a perfect day of fishing to kick off 2018.

Steve Mears pulled off one of the great feats in offshore fishing on December 30 with the Explorer…the Billfish Grand Slam!

Captain Fico and Mate Elias deserve tons of credit in the hunting of these monsters, and of course the safe live releases.

Great work by FishingNosara Hall of Famer Steve Mears!
Winston Hutchins joined Captain William for a five hour foray to the blue water, and despite the short trip they scored a wide variety of great catches.

A trio of nice Sailfish releases throughout the day kept Mate Wilson busy, and some fat Dorados in the afternoon means Team Hutchins with be well-fed during their vacation.

Awesome work by Captain William and the mighty Wanderer.
On December 29, Captain Fico delivered the goods for angler Michael Baoley with lots of billfish action backed up by some excellent meat fish.

This small Marlin is likely a juvenile Striped Marlin, but may also be an elusive Hatchet Marlin.

After the Marlin release they nabbed several super Sailfish.

In addition several nice Dorados found their way to the filet bag. What an excellent day of action on the unstoppable Explorer.

Captain Fico welcomed the Charmain Leskosek group on December 28 and found the fish biting early and often.

This Hatchet Marlin was the first catch of the 5 hour trip which was quickly followed by a nice Dorado.

The Explorer capped off the morning trip with a big Sailfish release just before the bell.

Captain Alex delivered the goods for angler Lawrence Goldstein on December 28 with multiple amazing billfish releases.

This big Sailfish catch got the 5-hour trip off to a good start, and shortly after the release this monster Blue Marlin came calling:

Captain Alex was running the boat without a mate on this trip, but he is no stranger to wrangling a big billfish from the cockpit.

Great work on the safe handling and release of these monsters by Captain Alex.

Our new friend Ray Webb scored big on the Harvester, starting with a trio of nice Sailfish releases.

After the clean releases the mega panga scored a bundle of big Dorados.

The Discoverer delivered the fish of a lifetime for angler Neil Sessions with this wonderful Black Marlin release:

Captain Carlos’ masterful boat handling kept this fight short and sweet, while Mate Kevin fearlessly executed the safe release of this monster.

Later on in the trip they scored a sweet Sailfish release backed up by a pair of Dorados for the dinner table.
