Jennifer and Shannon Gonzalez enlisted Captain William and the Wanderer on March 18 for a return trip to Sailfish City. The blue water was fruitful for these Tampa-area anglers as they stacked up Sailfish releases with great precision.

First Mate Alex had his work cut out for him wrangling these sea monsters; check out the look on Jennifer’s face when this bucking beast was brought up:

All the billfish were safely released care of the excellent First Mate Alex. Seems like the Sailfish got more aggressive at the day wore on…you’d think the first four Sailfish would spread the word to the others not to mess with the best!

The highlight of the trip was a Double sailfish hook-up that led to a thrilling release!

They closed out the day with a final Sailfish release. Wonderful action from the famous Wanderer!

Jennifer and Shannon Gonzalez torched the blue water creatures with Captain David on the Explorer on March 17.

The Sailfish have been thick recently and the Super Panga capitalized with several super releases.

The only thing that interrupted the Sailifsh swarm was this gargantuan Wahoo:

That is a legitimate deck sweeper!

These tough anglers kept the pedal to the metal with more Sailfish releases to finish off the trip.

Excellent performance by Captain David and Mate Kevin on the legendary Explorer.

Austin Cunkle and his crew are part of a long line of fantastic fishermen who’ve visited us from Northeast Florida. These Atlantic Beach folks know what to do with a big fish on the line, and their trip on the famous Wanderer proved that with several super Sailfish releases.

After two quick releases to break the ice, this posse hooked-up two Sailfish simultaneously and set the table for an awesome afternoon.

First Mate Alex smoothly handled and released both fish, and in no-time flat another pair of Sailfish hit the spread:

Two more late-day Sailfish delivered the final send-off for Austin and the boys, and put the bow on a perfect day of billfishing.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Larsen spanked some Sailfish today on the Wanderer. The flagship has been cooking lately, but this TEN Sailfish release performance is truly world-class.

The action started quick with a pair of ‘his and hers’ Sailfish releases within the first hour of fishing. A third high-flyer was waiting in line right behind them.

The peak of the day’s bite was this Double Sailfish release. Check out this great sequence of the action captured by Captain William:

Clean safe release as always by First Mate Alex!

The action did not relent for these New Jersey anglers as the day would see several more Sailfish releases, including this high flyer.

Mrs. Larsen added another pair of releases to the scorecard late in the 8 hour trip.

I don’t care who you are, a day like this is a real workout. Fortunately the Larsens were pumped up!

Great work by these fine anglers and by the crew of the mighty Wanderer.

FishingNosara Hall of Famer Dewey Gile returned to the scene of his commemoration: the legendary Explorer with Captain David at the helm!

A few years ago Dewey scored the first ever Marlin release for the then-new Super panga, and on his return visit he notched eight Sailfish releases!

The highlight came in the afternoon with this Double release…great work by Captain Carlos (on loan from the Adventurer) to safely coordinate this battle and release.

Dewey kept count of his Sails all day long; you think he is lobbying for a second slot in the Hall of Fame?

He bolstered his Sailfish releases with a nice Wahoo for the dinner table.

Excellent work by Captain David and the unstoppable Explorer.

Mr. and Mrs. John Rozas returned to the Explorer looking for a repeat of their success from last year. In March 2013 John nabbed a big Broomtail Grouper and together the released a nice Sailfish:

Notice how they seem a little apprehensive about handling this bucking billfish? They barely want to lay a finger on the mighty beast.

That was then, this is now:

Looks like John and Liz are trying out for a Mate position on the FishingNosara team!

Great work by this super couple!

Captain David has blown down the walls of Sailfish City this season and the Super panga’s catch numbers are keeping pace with the bigger boats. His trip on March 13 with client Robert Wood featured five big Sailfish releases and a 50+lbs. Dorado on ice.

Mate Kevin is turning into a fish-handling machine; he brought these billfish in and out of the boat with the smooth skill of a Mate with twice his years.

Most amazing of all is that all this action came on just a 5 hour trip…who knows what could’ve gone down with a full eight hours?

Great work by Garza’s fastest rising stars: Captain David and Mate Kevin!
