Richard and Jean Prowant found out just how effective Super panga fishing can be on March 18 with Captain David and Mate Kevin. These Moorehaven, FL-based anglers strutted their stuff with four Sailfish releases.

Also they scored two nice eating fish: a nice sized Wahoo early in the trip and a beefy Dorado on the back end.

This is the first of three scheduled trips on the Explorer for Richard and Jean…look out for more great action from these Floridians.

Jennifer and Shannon Gonzalez torched the blue water creatures with Captain David on the Explorer on March 17.

The Sailfish have been thick recently and the Super Panga capitalized with several super releases.

The only thing that interrupted the Sailifsh swarm was this gargantuan Wahoo:

That is a legitimate deck sweeper!

These tough anglers kept the pedal to the metal with more Sailfish releases to finish off the trip.

Excellent performance by Captain David and Mate Kevin on the legendary Explorer.

Fantastic action for FishingNosara Hall of Famer George Shipley on the Explorer. Waaaaaaay back in February 2011 Mr. Shipley earned enshrinement with the first double billfish day in the history on the then-new Super Panga.

Looks like he remembered the formula!

This double release was the highlight of the day that also featured a three solo Sailfish releases:

Plus a real nice Wahoo:

Add a late-day Dorado and you have a feast for the Hall of Famer.

Excellent work by Captain David and Mate Kevin to deliver the goods for this awesome angler.

Harris Savin returned to the Adventurer for another solo mission deep behind the enemy lines of the local blue water fish population.

They targeted trolling species and were rewarded with this whopping 30+ lbs. Wahoo.

Captain Carlos and Harris polished off the sushi just in time to add three tasty White Tunas to the fishbox.

They added a big Dorado to their collected later in the trip, bringing to a close another great fishin’ mission!

Kurt Gresenz and Thomas Gargan enlisted Captain David of the legendary Explorer to guide them to Sailfish City.

Little did they know that the biggest Wahoo of the season was stalking the super panga’s spread.

This monster easily weighs 60lbs. and might be 70.

With the filets on ice it was time for the mission at hand: Sailfish skirmishing!

By the end of the day Mate Kevin had four safe releases.

Great fish handling and awesome hunting by Captain David.

January 25, 2014

The North Carolina dominance continued on the Explorer as Eddie Barnett and his buddy slayed some good-eatin’ fish on the Explorer with Captain David.

This Dorado is a fine specimen estimated to weigh around 30lbs., but the real treat was this 40+lbs. Wahoo.

The silver bullet is arguable the most difficult meat fish to catch as pound-for-pound they fight as strong as a Black Marlin.

Great work by the legendary Explorer.

Mike Burling and his group split up today between the Explorer and the Adventurer but just because it was panga day doesn’t mean they didn’t head offshore.

Check out these fine blue water specimens roped in by Mike on the Explorer

After the Sailfish release they also capitalized on the bite with a nice Wahoo and Dorado on ice.

Nice trophy release and meat for the fridge? Just another great day by Captain David and Mate Kevin on the Explorer.

Captain Carlos had nice action over on the Adventurer, with this 25lbs. Dorado as the highlight:

The Adventurer welcomed David Kronk and his friend for a 6.5 hour trip to the blue water, and their haul was highlighted by the biggest Wahoo of the year so far:

These Michigan-based anglers weren’t done stacking the fishbox as they tossed in a few football-sized Yella Fellas for good measure.

Great day on the water by Captain Carlos and the 23-foot switchblade.
