Our old friend Joe Goins gave up on the snowy Northeast weather in favor of a full week of hot fishing with Captain William in late February.

From the 20th to the 24th Mr. Goins and his family fished everyday for eight hours per day; that’s some serious fishing!

This small Striped Marlin fought just as fiercely as its full grown brothers, but the mighty Wanderer was up to the task.

There was plenty of meat for the dinner table as well, thanks to this nice Dorado.

Still the target of the week was big billfish, and Captain William did not disappoint.

They closed out the week with another juvenile Striped Marlin release.

Fantastic work by the Goins posse and the fantastic flagship!

The Wanderer kept up the excellent fishing with another set of CCA Texas folks on February 3.

Art and Christine Jones brought their friends along for a trip to the meat market; for starters there was an excellent Yellowfin Tuna bite, which was then followed up by a big tasty Dorado.

They also added a sweet Sailfish release later in the trip:

On February 2, legendary Texas angler Jerome McKown walloped a wicked Wahoo on the flagship Wanderer.

This deck-sweeper is a true monster; each side yielded four 1-gallon bags of filets.

That wasn’t the only fish of the day…this posse of CCA TX anglers nabbed a big Dorado and a number of football-sized Yellowfin Tuna.

On February 1 Captain William pulled double duty with two half day trips from two fun groups of client.

On the morning trip Ricardo Aiste and his group nabbed a pair of Sailfish offshore before heading inside to battle Bonitas.

Then in the afternoon Edward Squieres and Curtis Ethridge brought the kids along for an educational few hours on the water.

No giant fish to report this time, but check out these big smiles…always great to see youngster learn the craft of fishing on the Wanderer.

Jacksonville’s own Captain Dan Parker is a legend in Garza Bay, fishing this area for more than a decade.

This FishingNosara Hall of Famer and his wife Charlene had a big day on January 31 with Captain William on the Wanderer.

After the first Sailfish release, Captain William found a pod of spinning porpoises and knew that Yellowfin Tuna were lurking underneath.
