Our good friend Nigel Phillips has returned and as usual has enlisted a bunch of his fish-fighting friends for a great week of fishing.
They got started on July 12 with the Wanderer reporting an excellent Sailfish release and a tasty White Tuna.
The Wanderer score some nice bluewater catches on July 8. This sweet Sailfish topped the scorecard.
They spent the balance of the trip loading up on Yellowfin Tunas.
Shawn Nevins battled a bad Blue Marlin on July 5. Mate Elias had the leader several times (a legal release) before this monster spit the hook and escaped.
They also scored a traditional Sailfish release later in the trip.
The Wanderer welcomed Shawn Nevins’ group on July 1st for a big fun day of Yellowfin Tuna catching.
Sushi time!
The Wanderer scored a dinner-plate Dorado on June 30.
Kim Prowese signed up the Wanderer on June 28, and the flagship delivered excellent blue water action; check out this awesome Sailfish release:
A hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico slopped all the way over the peninsula and sent some un-seasonal rain our way on June 21st; fortunately Master Captain William and the flagship Wanderer we ready to brave the elements and come away with a big pile of filets.
Excellent work by Jamie Zepeda’s group.
The Wanderer had a excellent trip on June 20 with angler Randy Trent’s group nabbing multiple Yellowfin Tunas.
John Gilvary scored again on June 17. Here is his email to us:
Well the last day of fishing did not disappoint with the addition of a Cubera Snapper to the list of fish caught down here in Costa Rica this time around. We caught some black tuna and Jack Crevelle for bait and then Jack landed this beautiful Cubera Snapper in 120 feet of water.
Released after the photo.
We had a small blue marlin jumping like crazy around the boat which was awesome to see, hopefully he grows up and we catch him next visit. Until our next visit Pura Vida my friends!!
John Gilvary had a great time on June 15 with the Wanderer. Let’s have John tell the story:
Well the fishing was pretty slow our first two days with only a couple of fish, but today was what we came here for. All the yellowfin tuna you could want to catch followed up by a fantastic first sailfish release for Jack, Ryan and Chris.
We will eat good again tonight and sleep like babies. Monday we head back out to see what the Pacific Ocean has to offer up, Pura Vida from Nosara
