The formidable fishing family of Captain Zack Gerzeny tried their hand at Extreme Panga Fishing on August 5 they returned to shore with some excellent variety on the scorecard.
The highlight was this monster Rooster Fish release, but they backed it up with some tasty Yella Fellas and a mean-mouthed Needlefish.
Andrew Queral and Doug Dickman took the Wanderer for an excellent day of action on the flagship. The fish were fired up for these Maryland-based anglers.
First order of business was knocked the Rooster fish off of the bucket list, and the mighty blue beauty obliged with this excellent Pez Gallo release.
Captain William pointed the flagship offshore and First Mate Alex deployed the spread for billfish.
Andrew and Doug kept the good times rolling with another nice Sailfish release.
In no time flat a pair of hungry Sailfish showed up and threw down the gauntlet.
Both fish safe released after the photos.
The highlight of the trip came in the afternoon in the form of this gnarley Striped Marlin:
The releases are the achievement of a lifetime for any angler, however pictures on a memory card don’t fill the belly…After a great day of trophy fish releases, you know that these guys weren’t going home empty handed.
This beefy Yellowfin Tuna was the finishing touch on a perfect day of fishing in Costa Rica!
Andrew and Doug moved to the Super Panga Explorer for a great day of inshore action with Captain Carlos.
They kept the rods bent with Yellowfin Tuna and plus added this scary Pinfish.
Dominic Licari brought his hard-fishin’ crew down from West Palm Beach, FL and they logged three solid days of fishing on the mighty Wanderer.
The highlight of their trips came on June 24:
This Blue Marlin is estimated at 400lbs. and she put up everyone ounce of fight she could muster.
This South Florida team also notched a pair of Sailfish releases, backed up by a few nice Yellowfin Tunas.
Great work by Captain William and First Mate Alex on the famous flagship!
Captain Carlos has been very active on the Explorer with excellent catches of Rock Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna and Cubera Snapper.
The Explorer consistently proves that you don’t need a big boat to catch big fish in Costa Rica.
Gilles Lemay brought his sons along for a family fishing adventurer on the famous Wanderer, and their late-day trip yielded some excellent table fare.
Looks like these guys have plenty of sushi and filets in their future…Great work by the flagship!
Garza Bay was rocked by a unusual swell event on July 6, which meant we had to pull all the boats from the water and wait for the waves to calm down.
Florida anglers Ken Cox and John Benton had to wait a day to kick-off their fishing expedition, but once the swell passed we were back on the water!
They got off to a quick start with a nice Sailfish release on July 7.

They followed up with some nice Yella Fellas for the ice box. “Just ate a pound of raw tuna. Like eatin butter,” said John. “Awesomest day of fishing ever.”
Things boiled over on July 9 when a MASSIVE Marlin hit the baits and put on a fireworks show for Ken Cox.
A swarm of Rooster fish have hit the area around Garza Bay and Captain David has put the Discoverer neck deep in the middle of them. Check out this nice 25lbs. specimen caught on July 2:
The next day the battleship welcomed a nice family of anglers and scored a nice Yellowfin Tuna backed up with a meaty Mangrove Snapper:
David Uhl and his boys got their week of Extreme Panga Fishing underway on the 23-foot Adventurer.
The inshore action was strong, yielding White Tuna, a small Dorado, and a beefy Yellowfin Tuna.
Nice work boys!
The Adventurer welcomed Stuart Scott and his fiancee for a productive half-day of Extreme Panga Fishing. The strikes came in pairs, with a duo of Yellowfin Tuna backed up by twin Yellowtail Snappers.
Another day of great action from the 23-foot straight razor.
