One of our favorite clients, Bobby Dean and his wife Lynn joined us for a two and a half hour sunset cruise in early August. He caught an excellent range of fish: four 18lbs. Yellowfin tuna, a 13lbs. Whitefin tuna, and a 33lbs. Amberjack.

July 28th marked the arrival of one of our favorite clients, Richard Moran. Mr. Moran brought the whole family to Nosara, and fortunately he caught enough fish to feed them all.
On his first day, Richard filled the fishbox with a 10lbs. Yellow tuna, two 15lbs. Jacks, and six 10lbs. Black tunas, plus he reeled in a 10lbs rainbow runner and a little needle fish for good measure.
Then he invited Javier and Craig of Nosara Paradise Rentals along for the ride, and the extra hands were put to good use as the spread was literally getting shredded by some aggressive sailfish. Richard caught and released a massive 120lbs. Sailfish, the biggest single fish of his trip, but not his best total day of fishing.
That came on August 3rd when, once again joined by Craig Sutton, Richard Moran successfully fought four 50lbs. Yellowfin tuna! These are by far the biggest tuna we’ve seen in these waters this year, and it seems as though this tuna bite will hold strong in the coming months as the rainy season approaches.

On July 14th client James had a banner day with Captian Vibert. By the end of the trip he had caught five 18lbs. jacks, two 15lbs. yellowfin tuna, and a very elusive 18lbs. white tuna. We’ve seen lots of clients going after these excellent tasting fish recently, and the diversity of the table fare is a testiment to Captain Vibert’s long experience fishing these waters.
The next day, client David filled released this amazing Rooster Fish:

Most recently, client David filled the fishbox with a varied haul on July 15th. He came back with three 12lbs. dorados, two 8lbs. ponpanos, a 12lbs. jack, and a 10lbs white tuna.

On June 10th Bob Cheers booked a blue water trip with Captain Vibert. They had a magnificent day, catching ten 15lbs. dorados and a pair of 30lbs. wahoo. Once again Captain Vibert knew exactly how long to stay on the dorado school and when to run the deep bait for those wahoo.

May 29th was a day of variety for client Ivan DeLuca, catching a 15lbs. dorado, a 5lbs. jack, and a pair of 10lbs. black tunas.The highlight was this excellent Yellowfun Tuna.
Ivan came back a week later and was joined by Conceige Numero Uno Manuel and Mate David Barrantes for a full day with Captain Vibert, and they redefined ‘day of variety’ by reeling in three 12lbs. yellowfin tuna, a 5lbs. gerguero snapper, three little suegras, and a beautiful 10lbs.

Captain Vibert took a half-day morning cruise on June 8th and caught two wahoo (30lbs. and 34lbs.) and ten medium-sized dorados.
Clearly Captain Vibert is on a roll with these dorado, and we look forward to more great reports from him as the season hits its peak in the coming months.

Clients Mike, Patrick, and Ryan had a fantastic day of dorado fishing, filling the fish box with thirteen of the blue-and-yellow beauties, ranging from 10lbs. all the way up to a 45lbs. beast!

On May 28th Captain Eduardo has a full boat (Tania, Braulio, Jaime, Kendal, Manuel, Javier, Miguel and Greivin) on a three-hour sunset cruise. They had an awesome time, hightlighted by this beautiful 40lbs. wahoo catch.
It’s always a thrill when our great staff gets in on the fishing action, and these big smiles a perfect illustration of the Pura Vida lifestyle!

On May 16th clients Andy and Debbie had a Sailfish field-day. Throughout the day, sixteen of the big beauties came tearing through the spread; by the end of the day they had caught and released seven Sailfish, all 110lbs! They came back in two days and raised seven more Sailfish, and this time they released four of the monster fish, one weighing over 120lbs!
They also added this healthy Wahoo:
It’s been said that once you catch a big sailfish, it’s all you can think about for the next week. This is clearly true for Andy and Debbie, who booked two more trips with Captain Eduardo on May 20th and 22nd. These additional trips added five more 120lbs. Sailfish to their record, and brought them a couple of 20lbs. dorados.
