Mike Gilbert’s group continued their amazing hot streak on the water with a fantastic Blue Marlin release on the Explorer.

This monster is certainly the fish-of-a-lifetime, and is the third Marlin release for the Explorer in as many days.

This consistency really speaks to Captain Carlos’ growth as a fisherman, and Mate Kevin’s fearlessness in the cockpit.

They rounded out the scorecard with a nice Sailfish release.

Briant Keen and his family had fabulous five Sailfish release day with Captain William on July 28.

They started quick with a release just one hour into the trip, then the action stayed strong throughout the day.

The highlight was a Double Sailfish release executed perfectly by First Mate Alex.

The seas were tall due to a big swell the night before, but this hard-fishing family fought through the queasiness and kept notching the scorecard.

The Barroom Brawler scored a knockout with client Matt Smoker achieving the Billfish Grand Slam on July 28!

The day started innocently enough with a pair of nice Sailfish releases:

Then Captain Carlos improved upon the scorecard with a small Black Marlin release.

Estimated around 200lbs., this juvenile Black Marlin put up a big fight but was safely handled and released by Mate Kevin.

Then a 500+ lbs. Blue Marlin hit the hook and Matt Smoker belted up for the true fish-of-a-lifetime:

This fish is a true monster and is fitting that it was final jewel in the Grand Slam crown for Mr. Smoker.

Oh, one other thing about this Grand Slam…5hr. HALF DAY TRIP!

Most anglers work their whole lives to accomplish the Grand Slam, but the Explorer only needs 300 minutes…mic drop!

Captain Fico on the 23-foot Adventurer continues to dominate the inshore species with some remarkable catches to close out the month of July.

This Cubera Snapper is a typical catch for the switchblade, despite the coral green waters inshore.

Captain Fico had a big day on July 26 with a wide variety of edibles on ice…this Ponpano is certainly one of the biggest of the year so far for the whole team:

As if the ceviche wasn’t filling enough, this couple also scored a nice Yellowfin Tuna for filets and sushi:

They closed out the day with this 30 lbs. Rooster fish release.

Great performances from the up-and-coming Captain Fico!
