Excellent catches by the big battleship Discoverer!
Rob Young joined the flagship Wanderer on the 26th and they started the day off right with this nice Sailfish release.
The real monster of the day was this MONSTER Dorado.
Estimated well over 70lbs., this massive Mahi Mahi will keep everyone full for quite a while. Plus is was followed up by other nice specimens:
The Harvester and angler John Baumgart scored the first big haul of the season for Yellowfin Tuna.
We have scored scattered Yellowfins this year, but not this big or numerous.
This is a great sign of the second high season which is right around the corner.
The last fish of the day was also the last fish ever for this rod which snapped off under pressure…that’s what happens when you battle the world’s baddest fish!
However the fish didn’t fare much better than the rod:
Ken Russell and Larry Komenda left the women and children at home on the 26th and enlisted Captain David to knock off a bucket-list item…Check out this awesome Rooster Fish release:
Kathy and Steve Cartier enlisted the big battleship for a full day of fish-fighting on March 26. Check out this mammoth Blue Marlin release:
After the world-class billfish release for the trophy case, Team Cartier nagged a bunch of Yellowfin Tunas for the refrigerator.
The Explorer delivered the catch-of-a-lifetime for this fun fishing family on March 25.
Double Sailfish releases are tricky, but Mate Johnny stayed calmed and ensured the safe release of both fish.
Great work by Captain Fico and the Explorer!
On March 25, Steve Carlson and his kids posted a very memorable day on board the Discoverer. This Double Sailfish release is the highlight.
Great work to release all billfish by Mate Kevin, including this handful of other Sailfish catches later in the day.
Ken Russell’s posse kept up the excellent fishing on March 23 with Captain William reporting a trio of supreme Sailfish releases.
Mate Elias did an excellent job of safely handling and releasing these beautiful fish.
Larry Komenda nagged this excellent Sailfish release to close out the session.
Ken and Brenda Russell and Larry Komenda and Misti Nolan switched over to the Discoverer on the 21st, and took their fish-catching ways with them. A couple of Sailfish top the scorecard:
Then this group of hungry Texans needs meat, so this Monster Dorado and elusive Wahoo will fill the refrigerator.
Check out this jealous bird scoping out their haul. Shoo, bird!
The Discoverer and Steve Putbrese lit it up on March 20 with several sweet Sailfish releases, highlighted by a wonderful Double Sailfish release:
Excellent fish-handling by Mate Kevin to ensure that all billfish were properly released alive and well.
