Charley Smith and his boys scored lots of Sailfish releases with Captain Alex on March 5.
These monsters were fired-up for the fight and put the crew of the mega panga to the test.
Eight Sailfish releases peppered the scorecard for the Harvester.
Great work by the Harvester!
The Wanderer welcomed Virgil Russell for a fine day of Sailfish battlin’ on March 4, and they scored big fish early and often.
After Ms. Russell’s sweet Sailfish release, Mr. Russell set in on a trio of great billfish releases:
“I wanted to say what an amazing time my wife and I had on the Wanderer,” Virgil wrote in an email. “Top notch Captain, mate, and boat.”
The Wanderer started the month with more consistent action and fun times. Just ask angler Dan Russell if anything better than a Pacific Sailfish release followed up by a nice Cuban?
Didn’t think so!
On March 1, multi-time Hall of Famer Dan Johnson joined the Wanderer and scored a Sailfish release and a Striped Marlin release.
Mr. Johnson has been fishing here for years, and even for an angler of his caliber this is an excellent day of action.
Fantastic work by the mighty flagship!
Captain Fico has earned his nickname of El Brujo (the witch) by conjuring big fish for his clients no matter the time or place.
For example, check out the biggest Broomtail grouper of the last few seasons delivered by Fico in late February.
The Explorer has been casting spells on bottom fish all season and the clients are reaping the rewards.
Ted Callihan’s group joined the Discoverer for a day offshore and the Sailfish showed up in force to meet them.
Captain Carlos reports multiple super Sailfish releases on the day.
Great job by the big battleship!
The Discoverer welcomed angler Pam Hill on February 24 for a big day of blue water action.
They also added some tasty filets, thanks to this nice Dorado and Jack Crevelle on ice.
Sweet work by Captain Carlos, Mate Kevin, and the big battleship Discoverer!
Henrik Fruelund came to us all the way from Europe to ply the blue waters off of Nosara. He selected the mega panga and they got down to business quickly.
The pelagics were fired up and each put on a tailwalking above-the-water display on the way to the safe releases.
Fantastic work by Mate Kevin and Captain Alex to ensure the safe survival and release of these sportfish.
They returned the next day (February 24) for more firefights with fierce Sailfish.
Once again the Harvester was up to the challenge, and successfully fought several Sailfish.
All of this billfish battling can cause one to work up quite and appetite…thankfully they added a big Dorado for the dinner table.
New Jersey angler Jack Herzlinger was super-excited to get fishing after purchasing his trip 18 months ago at the Saltwater Sportsman Expo in Edison, NJ.
Turns out it was worth the wait as the Harvester reports several super Sailfish releases.
They also added some tasty Dorados for the dinner table.
As a final send-off, they scored a wonderful Rooster Fish release for the trophy room. First they picked up this big Bonita:
Then they put a hook in the Bonita and sent it to the bottom, where this monster Rooster fish engulfed it.
Great job by Jack Herzlinger and the mega panga Harvester!
