The Explorer is absoulutely on fire this month! On July 25 she relased a Marlin and a Sailfish, plus mopped up on Yellowfin Tuna and the suddenly-abundant Wahoo!
The billfish were released early in the trip, leaving the rest of the day open for fridge-filling.
That’s some incredibly well-rounded fishing from the most powerful panga in the bay. Great work by Captain David and Mate Kevin on this excellent day!

Travis Picariello is a good old boy from New Jersey who we had the pleasure of meeting at a fishing show in Suffern, NY. With a lot of pleading and begging his parents allowed him and his cousin to visit us in Nosara, and clearly these fellas had some aces up their sleeves from the word ‘go’
Captain David took the Explorer to the blue water and they released a fantastic Marlin followed up by a big Sailfish.
Travis went ahead and picked up dinner in the form of this tasty 15lbs. Tuna and a big Dorado. Great start to the week for the Picariello boys.

Rolando Rodriguez hails from the hard-fishing town of Tampa, FL and came to Nosara primarily to hunt the monster Snook that live in the Nosara River. However the siren’s call of the nearby blue water could not be denied as Mr. Rodriguez booked the Explorer during his brief visit to the area.
Hello! This Pacific Sailfish is a total monster and Rolando was stoked beyond belief to releases this exquisite pelagic.
Great work by Captain Carlos and Captain David…when this much experience is on the boat the fish better watch out!

Nathaniel Krauthammer took to the Explorer with his lady and within two hours they had released ‘His and hers’ Pacific Sailfish. This first beauty came calling at noon:
The second fish was nearly identical in size and was released just after 1pm.
Great fish-handling by Mate Kevin and outstanding hunting by the crafty Captain David!

People often ask us if they should go offshore or stay inshore, and we give them the answer that all anglers love: Both!
Peter Karpinski booked the legendary Explorer and got all he could handle both offshore in the blue water and inshore where the meat fish like to school up. He started the day with two excellent Sailfish releases as the first fish came blasting through the spread around noon
Excellent release by Mate Kevin to ensure the safety of both fish and angler. On the next fish Peter was feeling a little brave and decided to bill the fish himself…not quite as easy as Mate Kevin makes it look, huh?
With the trophy fish released, Captain David pointed the Explorer inshore and Peter had a field day on nice-sized Yellowfin Tunas. Take a look at this trio of tasty treats:

Captain David stayed inside on July 6 with Cara Macksoud and her fellas. Take a look at this nice haul:
The 25lbs. Cubera Snapper definately qualifies as a tasty entree, but don’t overlook the Amberjacks for ceviche and soupa. These folks are spending a few months in the Nosara area and we hope once the refrigerator is empty we see them on the water again.

Jessica Bartoszek and her friends spend three nice days on the Explorer with Captain David and on the final day of the trip he delivered a memorable Sailfish release.
This Sail dragged out a mile of line but the tough-as-nails Explorer backed her down quickly and brought her alongside for a quick, safe release.
Great work by the angler, Captain, and crew of the baddest Super Panga in the sea, the Explorer!

Randy Powell has the knack for catching big fish as evidenced by this ridiculous 50+lbs. Amberjack caught on July 5. Captain David parked the Explorer right on top of the inshore reef system and this monster inhaled a fresh Bonita chunk.

David Schiffer and his lady took to the Super Panga on July 2 and Captain David kept the good times rolling with yet another tasty bite of Yellowfin Tuna.
These football-sized Yella Fellas are the perfect size for filets and yield the best-tasting meat around.
