After racking the biggest Cubera Snapper of the season over on the Explorer, Steve Creasey turned in another Hall of Fame – worthy performance on the mighty Wanderer. This Clearwater, FL based angler had five Sailfish in the spread and ended up releasing four of the mighty beasts.

The first three fish came calling all at once, and it took careful coordination between First Mate Alex in the cockpit and Captain William on the wheel to keep the three billfish from tangling.

Steve kept his cool and all three fish were no match for this crew. All billfish were safe released as always.

He ended up the day with an additional Sailfish release and a tasty Dorado for the dinner table.

Steve is fired up and that spells trouble for the local marine population…he is only half-way through his fishing adventure and already has claimed two spots in the FishingNosara Hall of Fame. God knows what he has in store for the rest of the week. Stay tuned!

May 15 was a tough day on the Wanderer. Client James Cash and his group are in town for multiple days of fishing which is a good thing because the water conditions for their first trip were less than stellar.

This 10lbs. Dorado was the only viable catch of the day, and from the picture you can see why. Those dark clouds onshore were pouring fresh water down the mountain which pushed the blue water far out to sea. This influx of new water wrecks havoc on the fishery.

Still the Wanderer showed her “Never Surrender” attitude by getting at least one fish in the box. Let’s hope for better action for Mr. Cash and his posse this week.

The tasty green Dorados are back in the area and the Wanderer is doing all she can to stay on top of them. On the morning of May 12 client Lion caught three of these Mahi-Mahi with the big one weighing over 25lbs. For some reason chose to take a picture with the smallest one.

This came on the heels of client Kate knocking out 5 Dorados on a 2.5hr. Sunset trip the night prior. Clearly the Wanderer is apt to adapt her tactics as the bite changes.

The Rick Blackburn and Chuck Harris group capped off their intense week of fishing with some near misses on legendary fish, but managed to salvage the day with four Dorados for the dinner table and one more Sailfish release.

Here’s Rick with at the Sailfish petting zoo. They raised a marlin on the teaser but couldn’t coax the big girl to eat. Still this was a great conclusion to a very active week of fishing.

You know Chuck had a blast because he has already booked his next Costa Rica fishing adventure…could Chuck Harris be the first three-time FishingNosara Hall of Famer? We’ll have to wait and see.

Things have stayed lit up for Chuck Harris and Rick Blackburn’s group as once again we have report of a mighty billfish released. This monster Sailfish came calling at 10am and was no match for this team of seasoned FishingNosara Hall of Famers.

Another safe release as always by First Mate Alex.

Later in the day this sandwich-size Dorado came onboard to give Chuck a little kiss. How sweet!

Team Harris wore them out again today on the mighty Wanderer with a GIGANTIC Marlin release! This Blue beastie is conservatively estimated to weigh 375lbs., though since we left her in the water it’s all a guess.

What an incredible run these fellas are on! This is their second Marlin in two days and they have more hunting planned this week. Stay tuned for some more great catches from these anglers.

Marlin Alert! The mighty Wanderer and Hall of Famer Chuck Harris captured one of the meanest Blue Marlin of the season. This 350+lbs. brute mugged the spread until First Mate Alex deftly brought the circle hook home.

Captain William backed the beast down while Chuck won back line at a steady pace. After a vigorous 20 minute battle they had this big girl alongside for the release.

Another safe Marlin release for the Wanderer and a true fish of a lifetime for Florida angler Chuck Harris.

Hall of Famers Chuck Harris and Rick Blackburn have planned multiple days of fishing on the Wanderer. On their first day they opted for good-eating fish so Captain William chased down a large school of big Yellowfin Tunas. Check out these monsters:

Mr. Harris and his pal Dave Wesmoss have booked the Wanderer and Explorer solid this whole week. It will be exciting to see what they pull in as they grow more seasoned to Costa Rican fishing by the day. With all these tasty Yella Fellas, they will certainly be well fed for the week!

Garza was humming with energy on the morning of May 2 as FishingNosara joined some other area boats in welcoming 32 yoga students from the Yoga Shelter for a Marine Nature tour.

The FishingNosara flagship Wanderer led the way offshore for local boats Sportsman, High Roller, and Aimee Marie.  After seeing birds, turtles, dolphins, and other aquatic life the Yogis decided to take a peek beneath the waves.

Rain was falling on land but the conditions in San Juanillo Bay were perfect for snorkeling. The water was crystal blue and the current was not an issue. Looks like everyone took advantage of the opportunity to take the plunge…except this bird who decided to stay high and dry.

In the end it was a fun day all around. Nice job by the other area boats and by the Guiones Beach Transportation staff in their perfect execution of getting 30+ folks to and from Garza.
