More great billfish action from the Wanderer with clients Bob and Geoff Birtalan of Jacksonville. They followed up their Sailfish release from yesterday with three more successful releases. These guys know what to do when big fish come calling!

Over on the Explorer client Guy Valente caught a nice Yellowfin Tuna and and ten meaty Black Tunas with Captain David. Great results for just 2.5 hours on the water.

The father and son fishing team of Robert and Geoff Birtalan are in Nosara for the week looking for some big time offshore billfish action. They got started on the Wanderer today and had several hungry Sailfish in the spread.

They had a double hook-up but the hunting buddies slyly cut the lines against each other and escaped. They broke the ice in the afternoon with their first Sailfish release.

Look out for these guys to tear it up the next few days!

Huber and his group were back on the Wanderer and spent the dayย  in the reef beating the heck out of the big bottom fish. They started out by trolling to for Bonitas to use as live bait and were quickly successful; in no time at all they were fully armed with eight juicy black bonitas, plus got a nice Amberjack.

As always Captain William and First Mate Alex sent the bait swimming to the bottom and the frenzy commenced. Hunter and the boys finally let up on the monsters but only after boating a 30lbs. Cubera,ย  a 35lbs. Broomtail Grouper and a 20lbs Amberjack.

Wonderful day for the Huber group to follow up their great billfish performance. Let’s see what they have in store for their next encounter with the big bills in the coming days.

Big day of inshore action for the Explorer and the Wanderer as the FishingNosara team had some great weights on the hooks. The Harlins went out on the Explorer this morning for a half-day and caught four nice 15lbs. Yellowfin Tunas and fifteen Twofin Tunas between 10-12lbs.

Later in the day on the Explorer Frank Desoblin from Gecko Verde in Samara choose the Super Panga for a half day and caught four Yellowfin tunas and 3 Twofins.

Meanwhile on the Wanderer Captain William took the Huber group a little bit offshore to troll for some monsters, and they found the BIG Yellasย  out by a school of porpoises. They had several multiple hook-ups and kept some nice behemoths for the fishbox.

Great day of fishing by the whole FishingNosara Team.

Hunter Huber and his group started the first of several day of fishing on the Wanderer with a bang. By 10am they had a Double Sailfish release and within the hour had released an additional Sailfish.

The Huber posse released another one around 3pm and added two beefy Yellowfin Tuna for the dinner table. Great work by Captain David and First Mate Alex to get these fellas introduced to Costa Rican Sportfishing with a great day.

They will be back for more this week so look out!

Some nice billfish action on the water today for the Wanderer and the Explorer. The blue beauty was out hunting for a half-day and had a swift pair of Sailfish come tearing through the spread. One pickpocketed the long lines for the ballyhoo, but his hunting buddy wasn’t so lucky. A quick fight ensured and the Wanderer released an awesome Sailfish.

Meanwhile on the Explorer a gigantic Blue Marlin was hooked up for a few minutes but got off. Believe me these big fish don’t get so big by getting caught every day! Captain David knows what to do when big billfish come calling, so expect to hear back from this big blue real soon.

Craig Sutton, US Representative for FishingNosara is in Nosara this week to wrap up the acquisition of two new Nosara Paradise Rentalsโ€™ properties. If you think that means the billfish are safe this week, you are wrong.

Craig was on the FishingNosara flagship Wanderer for a short afternoon billfish hunt. In the course of three hours they raised four sailfish and released one.

They also had a curious Dorado come through the spread knocking at the teaser and a few other mystery nibbles.

The rain is settling in for the weekend, but donโ€™t be surprised if Craig sneaks offshore to dance with the lady in the blue dress sometime in the next few days.

The Wanderer was pleased to welcome Jack Thames and his group from South Carolina for some inshore fishing on June 21. Jack is a very experienced angler and Captain William kept him on the fish with the rods bent.

First, Mr. Thames took advantage of the schools of Rainbow Runners that have been swarming through the area the last few days. Then one of the deep lines ripped off and the telltale red flash meant that the mighty Cubera Snapper had thrown down the gauntlet

Mr. Thames outlasted the big red Buick and was treated to a 60lbs. Cubera Snapper. Later in the evening they boated another great Cubera Snapper, though not quite as massive as the first.

Clients Ron Bias and Linda Branning were on the Wanderer for some billfish hunting today and they were not disappointed.ย  Ron is a good friend from Jacksonville, FL who we met at the Southeast US Boat Show a few months ago so we are extra-excited to report that he and Linda released this awesome Pacific Sailfish.

Safe release as usual by First Mate Alex and another superb job of hunting by Captain William. Clearly, the billfish bite has turned on and we hope to see several more nice releases like this one for Ron and Linda.

Another incredible Marlin release for the Wanderer! Client Steve Terny and his group were on the big blue billfish bruiser yesterday evening and caught the true fish of a lifetime. This Black Marlin release was the result of an intense but economical fight; only 35 minutes from hook-up to release.

As usual Captain William and First Mate Alex coordinated the operation with fluid efficiency and Mr. Terny was up to the ultimate angler’s challenge.

What a great catch, and as always a safe release. Great work by Steve Terny and the crew of the Wanderer!
