Captain Vibert has been a model of consistency this month, which began with a Marlin flyfishing hunt and also included a beautiful marlin release in mid-January.
The Master Captain finished January strong with client Chris and his group on the Cabo. In no time at all they caught a small cuberra snapper, a 6lbs. macarella, and five tasty Black tunas. Great work as always from the Cabo.
Our great friend Patrick Armbruster is no stranger to big-time reef fish as evidenced by this massive haul on a day trip with Captain David on the Explorer.
White Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Walleye Tuna, and the terrifying Cuberra Snapper…clearly the Explorer is game to battle all kinds of great tasting and hard-fightin’ reef fish.
Jason came home with this nice-sized Jack on a half-day fishing with Captain David Barrantes on the Explorer. As usual the Explorer is catching all types of fish for her clients.
Captain Craig Sutton, US Representative of FishingNosara, invited Matty and longtime Nosara client David Leibowitz for a day-long Wahoo hunt off the Atlantic Ledge east of Jacksonville, FL.
Without trusty First Mate Carl Schmidt, Craig took care of the gaff while calling on David to reel up the monsters and Matty to handle the boat. Though not the most seasoned crew the Fishtastic has ever seen, they got the job done to the tune of four big Wahoos.
We used our specialty Wahoo spread that includes skirted bonita strips, planer/spoon combo, and the infamous Cedar plug.
Rest assured that when we are not fishing in Costa Rica, the FishingNosara team is constantly engaging in this kind of “corporate field research”. Pura Vida!
LATE ADDITION: Jack wanted to get his bit in, so check out this awesome King Mackeral from August 2010. Captain Jack and his boat Drifter II are legendary in Northeast Florida much like his babies the Wanderer and Explorer are in Garza.
Our buddy Sheffey caught this monster on the Explorer today…
Seriously though, his group got on some nice fish and had a great trip. We let this little fella go, so come on down in about 20 years and this thing will be some nice eatin’!
Captain Eduardo on the Nice n’ Tight had a great day with client Simon and his group. They started off with three nice Black Tunas and ended the trip with a 20lbs. Cuberra Snapper. Captain Eduardo is super busy with multiple trips this week on the Nice n’ Tight and the 31′ Sportsman.
Patrick and his group booked the Wanderer for a sunset fishing trip and caught this awesome Cuberra, an Amberjack, a 10lbs. White tuna and macarela. Great action for such a quick trip.
Scott Walcott finished his two fishing days on the Explorer and here is his report. On the first morning Scott caught 3 yellowfin tunas, 1 white tuna and he hooked up about 10 Roosterfish, but no releases.
Then on Sunday Mr. Walcott caught a pair of 15lbs. Blue Jacks and a beautiful 45lbs. Cuberra Snapper.
The Cox family have been tearing the water up this week, but they truly saved the best for last.
After some great action on the Wanderer followed by more fish on the Explorer, the First Coast couple were back on the blue beauty for some big-time Marlin Hunting.
Fishin’ Accomplished! Great work by the Roy and Cathy Cox and the entire FishingNosara team.
Javier and our great friend Brooke Shields took an evening cruise on the Explorer with fine results. While it was “slow” all day for the other boats, Captain David strolled in and boated a dozen fish in 1.5 hours. Not so slow after all!
Javier claims that he will catch the first Marlin on the Explorer, but for now these little fellas will have to do.
