Tampa angler Dan Rosensteel had a nice day on the 27th with the Discoverer reporting a nice Sailfish release early in the trip.

Then in the afternoon, the keen-eyed Captain Carlos spotted a piece of floating debris, possibly a detached FAD. They found a nice ecosystem of Dorados has sprouted up underneath the floating shade.

Captain Carlos’ ingenuity was on display for this fun trip.

Ryan Brown’s group split up between the Wanderer and Discoverer on the 13th for a big day of fishing fun.

A sweet Blue Marlin was released on the Discoverer and was backed up by a nice Dorado.

Meanwhile on the Wanderer, the group loaded up on fine table fare.

Yellowfin Tunas made up the morning’s haul, yielding to big Dorados later in the trip.

The Discoverer kept up the strong early season fishing as Captain Carlos reports several nice Yellowfin Tuna catches.

Great work by Jon Cira’s group on this productive outing.

“Craig/Matty,”
“I wanted to thank you guys for a great trip. In 3 days fishing, we landed over 60 tuna (many released), 2 marlin, 2 dorado and a sail. The tuna were school size (perfect for my teenage daughter & her friend) up to about 45 lbs. We fed people in our condo complex, our property manager and our taxi drivers! The dorado went towards a pile of fish tacos.”
“Your captains and mates were excellent, great personalities, worked hard and kept the boats very clean. Maria’s lunches were fantastic!”
“We hope to be back and when we do, we will be fishing with you!”
“Thanks again for helping make this such a great experience!”

The big boats are back in action, with angler Jon Cira bringing a big group for three days of fishing in late October.

On the first day back the Discoverer reports a Sailfish backed up with several Yellowfin Tunas.

Here was Jon’s email to us: “First day of fishing was awesome for both boats, lots a schooly tuna, sailfish and a big blue.”
