They scored a nice Sailfish release, and backed it up with a nice Dorado.

While most of Bill Harris’ group was on board the Discoverer, Mr. Harris himself took to the 28-foot barroom brawler Explorer and opened up her season with a BILLFISH GRAND SLAM!
This Blue Marlin was the highlight of the morning, and was followed by a late-day Striped Marlin. Bill nabbed the first Marlin, and Mark Scott scored the second.
A nice Pacific Sailfish by Diane Turner completed the Grand Slam.
They didn’t go home empty-handed, thanks to five nice Dorado catches spread throughout the day.
Even a small shark came up for a photo before being released.

Our rainy season fishing campaign concluded with a trio of trips in early October with angler Troy Davis enlisting the Explorer for blue water action.
Several Sailfish releases were backed up with a literal boat load of medium-sized Dorados.
Mr. Smith and his crew got out of town just in time to avoid some historic flooding. Some areas of Nosara endured 30 feet of flooding.
The flooding in Nosara has been challenging, but the Ticos are working together and helping each other out.
Here is the 23-foot Adventurer with Capitan Alex, Antonio, and NPR staff Jeni and others getting some local kids to high ground.
The waters have since receded and things are getting back to normal.
Jeroen Nelis specifically wanted to target Sailfish, and although we can only take what the ocean gives us, on September 18 the ocean was in a giving mood and provided this angler with an excellent Sailfish release.
This great trophy release was backed up by some nice Dorados for the dinner table.

Our friend Alicia Blackledge returned to Nosara for the second year in a row to enjoy some blue water fishing during the so-called “off season”.
Captain Fico delivered the goods with big Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas.

Dale Rehus scored the biggest Rooster Fish release of the season on August 14.
This is a no-doubter 100+lbs. fish. The IGFA all-tackle record is 51.71kg (114lbs.) and I think this one is in the conversation.
A nice Sailfish release also reflected nicely on the scorecard.

Alabama angler Hall Massey made history for the FishingNosara team by being the first person to catch a Sailfish on the fly.
We’ve attempted a bit of fly-fishing over the years, and this accomplishment was a long time coming.

Craig Sutton and Javier went fishing on the 11th with Captain Fico, along with a special guest: Javier’s seven-year old son Dario.
Fans of this fishing report already know that Dario is a master of river mouth fishing, however this Sailfish represents his first billfish release.

On August 10, Natalie Scheider and her friends turned in a nice half day with the Explorer.
Big Dorados were the order of the day, and these anglers were more than happy to bring them home.
Captian Fico aka ‘El Brujo’ continued his sorcery on the 8th with a pair of memorable trophy releases with Richard Sim and his son.
These UK-based anglers started off this this awesome Rooster Fish, and then followed up with a sweet Sailfish release.
