Mike Burling is one of our favorite repeat clients, and after lighting it up last year on the Wanderer this time he chose the 26-foot Explorerย as his fishing platform of choice. The super panga was up for battle and Mr. Burling’s group was fit for the task.

The inshore bite provided good action early in the trip with four nice Mullet Snappers (12-14lbs.) and four equally-sized White Tunas on ice by Noon. In the afternoon the Explorer ventured to Sailfish city and released three beauties estimated at 70 lbs., 90 lbs., and a whopping 120lbs.!

Captain David and Mate Carlos saw to the safe releases of all three monsters as Mike Burling proved that his success last year was no fluke, but in fact the norm for this excellent Northeast Florida angler.

John Danner comes to us from the picturesque island community of Davis Island in the Tampa, FL area which is known for it’s world-class sailing. In fact every Thursday night there is an open regatta where local sailors can mix it up with traveling cup teams in Hillsborough Bay.

Well, Mr. Danner got into a different kind of sailing over the course of three trips with Captain David on the Explorer.

This is the kind where you release multiple Sailfish from a 26-foot panga boat!

Great work by Captain David and Mate Carlos to safely catch and release these beauties.

Mr. Danner was all smiles when he came back. Here is the email he sent us:

Albert Aucoin and his sons took to the blue water like only a bunch of good old Tampa boys will: 3 days, 3 trips, all on the super Panga Explorer with Captain David. They earned many tasty filets highlighted by this 25lbs. Dorado caught on February 6 and 15lbs. Mullet Snapper caught on February 7:

Excellent work by a group of hardcore CCA anglers and the 26-foot Explorer

Ronnie and Patty Soud of Jacksonville have long been friends of ours here at FishingNosara, and it was a real thrill to see these great folks capture a true fish of a lifetime with Captain David on theย Explorer.

This 40+lbs. Roosterfish release is a bucket-list item for many anglers yet the Souds made it look easy. Safe fish handling and release by Captain David and a great memory for Ronnie and Patty…all in a day’s work!

January 28, 2013

Our good pal Mike Young took to the Explorer in the afternoon and Captain David headed right back to where the fish were in the morning with similar results. No Snapper in the afternoon, but a nearly identical 40+lbs. Dorado was found on the end of the line

The Explorer continues her mission to deliver consistent, fun action for all of her clients. Great work as always by Captain David and Mate Carlos.

Michael Reed and his posse had a whale of a good time on the Super Panga Explorer with the legendary Captain David. The highlight of the fishbox was this trio of perfect-eating sized Mullet Snapper:

These fellas lose their meat density when they grow over 25lbs., but these pan-sized morsels are ideal for table fare. They also added a 40+lbs. Dorado which tastes great big or small.

Another fantastic trip to the fish market by the unbeatable Super Panga Explorer!

January 23, 2013

Fantastic day of all around action from Captain David on the unbeatable Explorer! With Carlos on duty over on the Wanderer, Garza local Steven stepped up to the mate position and the mighty super panga didn’t show the slightest letdown.

Client Michael LeChance and his wife laid a beating on several Dorado early in the trip, then set their sights on massive Sailfish.

\

They had three bites and one wonderful Sailfish release during the mid-day bite, then Captain David headed inshore to mop up on Snappers.

Once again good things came in threes with a trio of Snappers in the fishbox.

Looks like everyone had a great time on the baddest super panga you’ve ever seen, the Explorer!

January 19, 2013

The evening of January 19 was a time for family and friends on the Super panga Explorer. Captain David was joined by his wife Betsy, Head groundskeeper of Nosara Paradise Rentals Grevan Hernandez, and our newest employee, Mechanic’s Mate Marino.

Marino has distinguished himself as the master golf cart mechanic in the area after many years working with our buddy Mike Eisenhower of Island Buggies. It is a treat to add such a skill member to the team and especially nice to see him haul in this nice snapper on the evening tides.

As usual the hot rod belonged to Betsy as she had a hand in filling the fishbox several times over.

Awesome evening of fun and fishing with friends and family…Pura vida!

December 18, 2012

Captain David took his wife Betsy and their kids for an evening cruise. After so many trips run it figures that David would want to relax, so it’s a good thing that Betsy and the kids are just as good on the reel as the old man.

Excellent Amberjack pulled off the reef by the David’s family, probably weighing 25lbs. Even on the Captain’s day off the Explorer catches fish!
