On July 19 angler James Frye and his group stayed close to shore and found that a swarm of large Yellowfin Tuna was there to meet them.
Why go far if you don’t have to?
Our old pal George Kommick had a wonderful run of trips with Captain Fico from July 15 to July 18th. The first day they filled the refrigerator with a wide array of tasty filets.
The highlight of the week came with the capture and release of this high-flying Blue Marlin:
Estimated around 400lbs., this is clearly a memorable catch for this great angler.
The Wanderer kept the good times rolling on the 16th with exciting blue water action.
They hooked up with an energetic Sailfish and they boated some Yellowfin Tuna filets:
Kevin and Stephanie Bickers of Jacksonville had a big time with Captain Fico on the Explorer. They nabbed several nice Yellowfin Tuna and scored a wonderful Sailfish release.
The Discoverer kept rocking with Captain Sergio’s group reporting multiple Yellowfin Tuna.
Anglers James Koslowski, Mary Roberts, Gus Martinez, and Wayne Fernandez have plenty of filets for their time in Nosara.
They also nabbed a pair of Sailfish releases for the trophy case.
Captain Carlos kept up the good time for Captain Sergio’s group on day two with anglers Gus Martinez, Jerold Long,
Christine Long, John Martinez, and Judy Martinez.
These two Sailfish releases were the highlight of the day which also included two Dorados and two Yellowfin Tuna.
Karen Lawrence and her family enjoyed multiple Sailfish releases on July 9th and 10th.
After the trophy releases the Mega Panga set the Lawrence family up with spinning tackle and mugged a school of nice Yellowfin Tunas.
The next day Captain Alex went to the same spot for more great Sailfish action:
The Wanderer delivered a fun memorable trip for angler Mike Hollis and his group with a scorecard marked up with Marlin, Sailfish, and Yellowfin Tuna.
After an early Yellowfin Tuna, this Striped Marlin came in after a feisty battle.
She weighed at only 100lbs. but fought like a tiger.
Later in the day the flagship scored a second billfish release with this sweet Sailfish.
Even though it’s Yellowfin Tuna season, that didn’t stop Captain Carlos from walloping this awesome Dorado on July 8:
Backed up with some more reasonably sized Yellowfin Tunas, this was a excellent haul for the Discoverer.
Captain David continued to dominate the inshore water in mid-July with a trip highlighted by 20+ Yellowfin Tuna and a big Jack Crevalle on ice.
