Captain William welcomed these clients back to the Wanderer for a pleasant three-hour tour (sorry…it’s the Gilligan’s Island skipper hat that gets me).

Fishing Girl Costa Rica

Lines were popping the whole trip as they staying inshore over the reefs. They got a wide variety of fish including Yellowfin Tuna, Black Tuna and this nice Amberjack.

Most importantly, everyone had a blast out on the water. Great trip!

Fantastic weekend of fishing for client Elliot and his posse. On Saturday they kicked off the morning on the Wanderer and caught a MASSIVE Cuberra Snapper. In the afternoon they went offshore and raised a few billfish.

Then on Sunday they accompanied Captain David on the Explorer for an inshore tuna hunt up and down the reefline. They action was intense with many multiple hook-ups and lots of surface activity.

First they caught and released this excellent Sailfish …

then moved inshore where the fishing was on fire! The Yellowfin bite would not let up until the fishbox was literaly stuffed. Thank goodness we are so close to shore because there was no way to close the cooler.

Yellowfin Tuna

Yellowfin Tuna Catch

They packed the fishbox of the Super Panga with 22 Yellowfin tunas by days end. Great work Elliot and crew!

The whole team was out on the water today, and though the big billfish were elusive today all of the boats got on some fish. There was a pair of sailfish strikes on the Wanderer but no releases; they spent the afternoon working over the inshore reefs and caught two Yellowfin tunas and a sweet Amberjack.

Explorer Fishng Boat

On the Explorer client Jess Lockmon took a 2.5 hour sunset fishing trip with Captain David, and they caught a fat Dorado on a slow troll. Great ending to a very long day for Captain David who mated on the Wanderer all day before this trip.

Yellowfin Tuna

If there’s fish to be caught, you know that Captain Eduardo and the Nice n’ Tight will be right on top of them. With clients Steven and Liam on board, the biggest little boat in Garza had a field day on some football sized Yella fellas.

Great day for the whole FishingNosara family.

Captain David and mate Johnny were pictured in this month’s Voz de Nosara (Voice of Nosara), the local newspaper in Nosara. They assisted Renae Herberger, aka Mermaid from Germany in her awareness-raising swim from Playa Garza to Playa Ostional. You can read the whole story in English or en Espanol by following the links.

Great action on the Explorer! Peter Perakos from Costa Del Mar sunglasses hooked up two nice Sailfish and released one.

On the way back to shore they parked inshore for a little while and top-water casted the reefs. They nailed a couple of Yellowfin tunas for the table to cap off a great day of fishing.

Mr. Perakos and his posse have several more fishing trips planned this week, so keep an eye right here for all the updates.

The Master Captain Vibert has stayed vigilant on the inshore reefs, and tonight he and client Paul cox took a 2.5 hour sunset fishing trip on the Cabo. Even though they lost a big one on the bottom, he did manage to boat a nice  Congrio.

As usual, Captain Vibert is all over the inshore action. Look out for more great trips from the Master Captain.

Client Submitted Report: Brenton Young

“We had an awesome time on the boat.  As a person who has fished most of my life I understand slow days.  We paid for a boat charter and there is no promise of fish.  The group said it was one of the best days they have had in CR and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.”

Fishing in Costa Rica

“William and Alex were awesome and made the trip even more enjoyable.  Alex really knows he is doing, and William took us through a huge pod of porpoise several times because he saw how happy it made the girls.”

“I will be back and will definitely charter the Wanderer again.”

Tough action today in Nosara…the conditions offshore were windy with high seas and the inshore water was green as emerald. With such poor visibility in the water, it’s no surprise that all of the boats in Garza had trouble getting fish.

Costa Rica Fishing Boat Explorer

Over on the Explorer Captain David kept the rods bending for client Cameron on a half-day trip, but unfortunately none of the catches were ones to write home about: three average Black tunas and a lonely Bar Jack.

Annie Robinson booked the Wanderer for a half-day and had similarly marginal results. Despite some surface activity and some promising nibbles, all she came home with was a single Yellowfin Tuna.

Old fishing saying: When the bite gets soft, the tough get hard.

With the full moon still hanging like a noose over the blue water, David Dahl and the rest of his Northeast Florida fishing posse came to town looking to break the slump. Some of the best catches in the Fishing Nosara Hall of Fame come from Florida’s First Coast, and sure enough David Dahl from Duval had a great day fishing.

Costa Rica Sailfish

The bite was slow at first, but shortly after noon they raised up the first sailfish. Then a Marlin came tearing through the spread and began laying waste to the spread. Two more sailfish came calling throughout the day and by the end of the trip they had raised a total of four billfish and released one beautiful Pacific Sailfish.
