Most recently, Ran Davis booked the Wanderer on April 8 and had some really nice catches. Mr. Davis and his group came home with a 40lbs. Cuberra Snapper, four Yellowfin Tunas, and a tasty little white tuna.

Great inshore action for the Wanderer in a month where the fish are literally chewing the bottoms out of the boats. Great job by the whole FishingNosara Team!

We got some great news from the Explorer on April 4. The Super Panga with the supersized heart was booked by client Kieran Charles Fleming from Michigan for a full day of offshore billfish hunting. Captain David enlisted First Mate Alex from the Wanderer for the trip, and the boys did an excellent job of putting the clients on the fish of their dreams.

Sailfish Release Costa Rica

First up was a nice Sailfish release estimated over 100lbs. While that may satisfy most panga boats, the Explorer is not your daddy’s panga…it is a billfish hunter to the bone!

Blue Marlin

Just ask this 300lbs. Blue Marlin that Captain David and Kieran released late in the day!

The moral of this story? The fish don’t care how big the boat is. The right tackle, the right captain, and a good angler are all that is required to catch the fish of a lifetime on the 26′ foot giant killer…Explorer!

Captain David on the Explorer is doing great things for all our clients big and small. Check out this great Cubera Snapper these little dudes pulled in on a three hour sunset cruise on March 24.

These sunset cruises are a fantastic way for youngsters to learn the craft of sportfishing without committing to a full day out on the ocean.

Our good friend Eduardo Barrios is back in Nosara. With several trips on the Wanderer under his belt, Sr. Barrios was itching to try the new Explorer. He brought his youngest daughter out and Captain David put them on some fish early and often.

“Lost track of how many black tuna,” writes Eduardo. “At least 10 plus one jack and two snappers.ย  And of course we lost several great hits that we just couldn’t get any leverage on. Below is a pic of what we took home.”

“We also had the opportunity to see a few sting rays, a whale, lots of turtles and dolphin. My daughter absolutely loved it.”

The Wanderer is the best choice in the whole area for family-style fishing because of the friendly English-speaking crew, private bathroom and the legendary stability of the T-Craft hull. This party from Hermosa Beach, CA had a fantastic day on the Wanderer and caught some great fish.

All the kids got time on the reel and caught fish. Captain William’s fatherly manner is a real plus when it comes to fishing with the kids; everyone has fun and everyone gets to participate.

July 6, 2010

July 6th was a family day of fishing on the Wanderer when client Andrew Egbert and brought the whole gang along for a great half-day fishing.

The lines were popping and the rods bending to the tune of four 15lbs. Yellowfin tunas, three White tunas, a ponpano and a 12lbs. rainbow runner. The kids had a great time and the weather was perfect. Great work by the crew and the Egbert family. See you again soon!

Recently the Wanderer was graced by Dennis Rosa and his son Sam for two full days of fishing on the 12th and 14th of February. On the first day they caught two 25lbs. Dorados and a 120lbs. Sailfish. Then they raised ten Sailfish on the second day and ended up successfully capturing and releasing four of them.

Sam showed excellent skills on the reel and was centrally involved in all the Sailfish strikes. He had a great trip with his dad to our little slice of paradise, where they explored the surrounding areas on foot, on the water, and even from the treetops on one of our nearby jungle zip-lines.

FishingNosara and Nosara Paradise Rentals are proud to be family-friendly doorways for kids of all ages to enjoy the Pura Vida spirit of Costa Rica.

Sam’s Sailfish Scorecard: 85lbs. – 90lbs. – 110lbs. – 120lbs. Great work buddy!
